HUG O' WAR

I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war.
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

Other work accomplished: I cleaned my desk. Of course, you still can't tell I've cleaned my desk, because I can't finish cleaning my desk until I've actually dealt with our bank statements for the past god-knows-how-many months, so there's this big ugly pile of paper still, and a stack of dissertation stuff on the floor, because I don't have anywhere else to put it, and have I mentioned this apartment is too damn small? But I reorganized the filing cabinet, and got the filing system up to date and pitched, at a rough estimate, five metric tons of stuff I'd been hoarding because sometimes I'm stupid like that. Plus I did laundry. And read Thus Was Adonis Murdered and The Shortest Way to Hades. (And now I'm rereading The Sirens Sang of Murder.)

Verdict: Actual output, not so much. Necessary boring chores accomplished, gold star.

TRUEPENNY calls MIRRORTHAW at work

TRUEPENNY: This is going to be short and stupid. Do you have
any idea what I did with my watch?

MIRRORTHAW: Last time I saw it, it was on the floor by the couch.

Truepenny scuffles briefly amid slippers and notebooks.

TRUEPENNY: Aha!

MIRRORTHAW: Good thing I noticed it this morning.

TRUEPENNY: (beaming) Wonderful husband!

Dude, being married? Sometimes it's like having a whole extra brain.

Other work accomplished: Tiresome phone errands. Gloried in the beautiful weather; celebrated by going barefoot part of the day and wearing all my foot jewelry: 3 anklets, one with lion charm; one toe-ring. I'm wondering if it would be overkill to get a second toe-ring. (Okay, some of this is not work, but it's Important.)

Verdict: Enh.

And you're stopping because ... ? Going to take a hot bath and read The Sirens Sang of Murder. 'Cause I wanna.

Note to self: Keep your exercise routine going, you twit.
