truepenny: artist's rendering of Sidneyia inexpectans (hamlet)
You know, if I post what it is I'm supposed to do for the day, I then feel guilty if I don't do it. "Guilty" isn't quite the right word, since I'd feel guilty anyway. I feel like I'm letting people other than myself down.

I realize this is an illusion, but humor me.

So. Today's goal is the conclusion. I don't think I can expect to finish it today, unless I really get on a roll, but I would like to have five full pages of connected text (i.e., not just outline and notes) as my accomplishment for this particular Friday. Two pages would be acceptable. We'll see what happens.

The consensus, btw, is that I should dedicate my dissertation to John Webster. And the Acknowledgments page practically wrote itself. I discovered that I knew exactly who I needed to thank for what. So that's comforting.

[livejournal.com profile] oracne need not be disappointed in me. I have written my two continuous pages of conclusion.

Also ran many errands.

And is it just me, or is there something intrinsically un-Christian about a date auction?

emperor chapter 16: 753 words

Yes, it is a very short chapter. I am trying to teach myself that it is okay to write short chapters. And it may fill out if there turns out to be more stuff it needs. But it did the thing that particular chapter was slated to do, so I stopped.

Pardon my defensiveness.
