May. 25th, 2004 10:29 pmSo (no shit, there I was ...).
I have made the revisions indicated by my director's comments. I have stuck Wilson, Parker, and Cavell in at appropriate places.
I've corrected the abstract for the fact that an entire chapter got dropped (same corrections already made in Introduction and Conclusion), and got the remaining chapters numbered correctly. Likewise got things in order in the Table of Contents. The Albatross has slimmed down from 364 to a positively svelte 276 pages.
I've filled out the paperwork (because there's always paperwork).
Tomorrow I have to call the formatting-wallahs and get an appointment for the final review. Since appointments can only be scheduled for two specific hours during the day, M-F, I am now hoping desperately that I can be fit in before June 11. Any good karma you can spare in that direction would be most deeply appreciated.
Then, after running the spellcheck one last time, I have to convert into Word, make sure Word hasn't eaten all my formatting, make sure the formatting I have is the formatting the university wants, and take the silly thing to a copyshop, because not only does it need to be on higher-quality paper than I actually possess, it has to be printed on a laser printer.
Make sure my paperwork is complete, including chasing down my director to get yet another signature from her (email already sent).
Prepare myself to shell out (like the university doesn't have enough of my money already, fer cryin' out loud) for the privilege of depositing and even more for the privilege of retaining my own damn copyright.
And, supplicant, prostrate myself before the Sphinxes.
Hoo boy.
