The degree won't be awarded until August, but frankly that hardly feels like it matters.

heres_luck, matociquala, and melymbrosia are fantastic people to go bookstore trawling with on the afternoon after one has deposited one's dissertation. I'm just saying.

I still think someone ought to do a "secret diaries of a dissertation student" spoof: it's surprisingly quite an emotional roller-coaster, and there seems to be such a universal pattern of stages... Hmm!
