So we went back out today.

Got the rest of the nails and screws out of the wall--although we kept finding them right up until the time we left.

I vacuumed (and damn the word vacuum for being completely unspellable) the walls to get off the worst of the cobwebs, and then we started washing them, using a homemade mixture of [livejournal.com profile] heres_luck's concocting--I know that it included rosemary (which is a lovely thing to have one's house smell of) and that it worked.

Washed living room, dining room, front stairs, back stairs, upstairs hallway, two of the three bedrooms, and the upstairs bathroom (the third bedroom is a different species of colored horse because of the Ghastly Wallpaper--the best thing which can be said about it being that it isn't yellow). In the upstairs bathroom we moved the ... I don't know what to call it. An armoire? A free-standing cupboard? All I know is that it looks pretty much like what Boris Karloff's Frankenstein's Monster would look like if he were translated into furniture. It came with the house.

Anyway, we moved Frankenstein and found the Secret Spawning Ground of the Dust Elementals (not to be confused with the Secret Graveyard of the Cat Toys that we found on Wednesday). Dust. No, excuse me, DUST. Vanquished with the +2 Vacuum of Hoovering.

So, much cleaning has been done today. Tomorrow there will be more cleaning.

Also tomorrow, muscles I didn't even know I had are going to ache. And ache. And ache some more, just for the hell of it. But I'm pleased with what we've accomplished.
