"Wait for Me" is live at Naked Snake Online.

Also, if your preference is for paper and ink, Alchemy 2 is out. And reviewed in this month's Locus.

Right. As you were.

Hey, just read, and enjoyed quite a lot. I think you very successfully captured that gothic-horror-movie feeling, like in the Sixth Sense, of something uneasy and dreadful -- not like in a slasher movie, where you know there's a monster lurking behind the door, but rather something you just don't want to look at and acknowledge, the way that Mr. Booth doesn't want to look at the pamphlet but can't help himself.

I very much like the notion of a haunting both created and dealt with by ordinary people, in a relatively prosaic way; it seems somehow much more likely and realistic as a result, which really worked well for me in helping to suspend disbelief.

BTW, a minor technical note that you might want to pass on to the editor, the frame with the story doesn't display properly in Mozilla: the second and third paragraphs overlap. Looks fine in IE, though. :)

Yep, there's the overlap. There's also a place where they "corrected" something into error: it's the place where you say that Amelia was mishearing, and that it wasn't "Wait for me, Melly," which they have changed to "Milly." (Oh, dear, or was it ie? Bother. Anyhow, you know what I mean, I hope.)

It's this bit:

And I am terribly afraid she mishears it.  Georgiana isn't saying, "Wait for me, Milly."

I've emailed the editor about both errors.

Thank you!

I very much enjoyed "The Venebretti Necklace." Lovely atmosphere and suspense, and a charming bumbly protagonist. Fun!

(I proofread it almost a year ago for Steve. :))

Is there any better name than "Naked Snake Online"? I thought not.
