Yesterday was a good day.
Kekropia
Ch. 8: 2,644 words
Ch. 9: 168 words
And, yes, that does mean I've finished Chapter Eight. (Astounding, Holmes! How do you do it?) The chapter weighs in at 17,700 words (and it's not the longest chapter in the book, either), and the total for the book thus far is:
120,700 words
I think (hope) (beg, plead, whine) that I'm about three quarters of the way done, which means Kekropia should be coming in right around the 175k mark that I had to edit Mélusine down to hit.
Suddenly, I am filled with insane and crazy optimism and love the world. Of course, I can blame this on sleep deprivation, since I got one hour of sleep last night (well, technically this morning, between 7:15 and 8:15), which may or may not have any causal connection to the writing. Haven't the foggiest. But still.
I finished Chapter 8.
