Ooooooooo. I'd lend you mine if I weren't so damn busy -- and if the reprogrammed shift/ctrl keys on the left side wouldn't drive you mad.

No, it's okay. It cleared up again. It's been doing this for the past two or three days, where the E, C, and D keys will stop working for no reason, and then start working again for no reason.

Petit mal.

I'm just hoping things aren't going to go from bad to worse, because replacing this keyboard is not exactly something I can afford just at the moment.

Ought to be fixable. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Does Kinesis put warranties on their repairs? 'Cuz I know you had it in not long ago.

Actually, if you don't use your function keys, one thing you might do is reprogram three of them to act like the keys that go out on you. If you've never done that -- hold down Progrm, hit F11, release. Then hit the key you want to redefine. Then hit the key you want it to act like. Repeat until you have no more redefinitions, then hit Progrm-F11 again.

So to redefine F4, F5, and F6 to e, d, and c respectively:

Progrm-F11
F4
e
F5
d
F6
c
Progrm-F11

It won't be pretty, but it will work in a pinch.

Thanks.

I'm just going to stick this post in the little Memories feature, so if I need it, I can come back and find it.
