Several people on my reading list need a hug. If you're one of them (whether you've said so out loud or not), please consider yourself hugged.

I thought I was the only one this ever happened to.

I'm taking the train to Minneapolis today to hang with [livejournal.com profile] elisem and get those pesky author photos taken. Back Friday. I'm psyched. I haven't been on a train since I was ten, going from Vienna to Florence. (And, yes, that's vee-ENN-ah, not vye-AIN-ah. The one in Austria, not the one in Georgia.) I mean, yes, this is only Amtrak, but still. Trains are so much cooler than airplanes (or cars, and especially cooler than SUVs, and even more especially cooler than Humvees), and I wish violently that America would get her head out of her ass and wake up to this fact.

So, tra la, I must go pack my bag.

Enjoy my city! I'm so glad I don't have to be jealous of you for getting to be here any more.

I've had that 'suppose I forget to breathe' thing (mostly during a very hot dry summer at a time when my general circumstances were causing me to have panic attacks).

I remember a friend telling me how she was taking a bath, and then went to climb out of the tub -- and suddenly found herself thinking about how to get out of the tub -- and literally froze, and couldn't figure out how to get out for about thirty minutes. I've never had anything quite that dramatic happen, but I do understand!

And I adored little red riding wolverine.
