I had a dream last night that feels important.



I dreamed that I was going to San Francisco for an academic conference (and since the last academic conference I attended was the SAA conference in 1999 which was in San Francisco, this makes sense). The hotel was enormous and confusing and there was a host of the usual anxiety dream motifs that we don't need to go into. My point is that by the end of the dream, I'd given the academics the slip and was attending a science fiction convention in the same hotel, a science fiction convention at which elisem was receiving an award and at which the closing ceremonies included papersky and rysmiel reaffirming their commitment vows to each other. The dream faded out as I was sitting in the lobby with Papersky, watching her make crowns for herself and Rysmiel.

And, you know, I was in the right place.
