390 words yesterday. Plus 592 on a short story that isn't going anywhere, and 398 of them were wrong anyway.

I think the combination of post-novel ennui and hormonal mood swing isn't doing me any favors.

Thank you all very very much for your answers. I appreciate it greatly.

I used to have debilitating, nausea-and-ghastly-pain-oh-god-why-doesn't-somebody-shoot-me cramps; nothing worked on those except the prescription painkillers I'd hoarded from having my wisdom teeth out. Like [livejournal.com profile] sosostris2012 I sing the praises of the Pill. Things haven't been nearly so bad since then--especially since I got switched off the kind that caused ravening dingo bitch PMS and random intervals of bursting into tears, and onto the kind that doesn't.

Ibuprofen is the only OTC analgesic that does much of anything, and even ibuprofen really only takes the edge off. And I can't take it in high doses or for very long, because of my other Boring Health Problems (which are mostly stomach-related).

I have found that regular exercise through the month seems to help--although since I'd need a clone-me for a control group, I'm not sure how much. And thank you, again, everybody, for your suggestions of specific stretches and exercises to try.

Y'all are wonderful.

I used to find relaxing in a hot tub helped. That, and those wonderful 800 mg Motrin pills, would make life possible. Not sure why taking four 200 mg pills doesn't work the same, but it doesn't. Must be something in the way the pill was released in my guts.

I have to admit that, when they told me I had to have a hysterectomy, one of my first thoughts was "Yay! No more cramps."

Much sympathy.

Your writing progress sounds a bit like mine has been recently. Except for you, you know, finishing a lot more stuff. [cough]
