Not getting much done these days. But I do have a new favorite typo.

Ellington reproducing pianos, grand pianos, uprights and player pianos are made by the Ellington Piano Co., Cincinnati. It has been subjected to the most severe tests of all clematis and it has endured the most rigorous use.

(Tiny bit of backstory: we went out to eat with Mirrorthaw's parents on our way back from my parents' place to our place, and the restaurant had an Ellington Cincinnati Cabinet Grand--stunningly beautiful case, and I was curious, so I Googled, and this was one of the hits it came back with.)

I'm sure they meant "climates," since climate can be a severe test of a piano, but that's not what they said. And now I'm imagining the centuries-old secret history of feud and betrayal and revenge between the subtle clematis and the ferocious piano.

The picture in my head is more related to those reproducing pianos. And it's a very strange picture--but even moreso with the clematis getting involved.

Bwaha...oh man, I will now keep a polite distance from my neighbor's clematis. There's no telling what it'll do.

Oh, that is excellent, that image.

between the subtle clematis and the ferocious piano.

Other way round, surely? The clematis inflicts its most severe tests (I picture it as harsh, but fair) and the patient piano endures: the image will remain with me forever.

There is nothing subtle about a grand piano. Kind of like a rhinoceros. I'm with you on patient, but I figure that when the piano finally gets its blood up, mayhem and carnage ensue.
