I think the most interesting thing I did yesterday was get my cartilage pierced. Left ear, if you were wondering. (Steve's Tattoo, if you were also wondering, where the employees were courteous, efficient, and beautifully be-inked.)

Other than that ... lovely Ethiopian food for lunch, minding [livejournal.com profile] elisem's table during the afternoon, the Tiptree auction, the Haiku Earring Party, the Ratbastards Party (and, no, I did NOT karaoke--I don't do performance art), the Tor party (briefly), and home.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] ellen_kushner and [livejournal.com profile] matociquala--the reason we couldn't think of the "something something" in Sonnet 129 is, IT AIN'T THERE. 129 begins, Th'expense of spirit in a waste of shame / Is lust in action (and til action, lust / Is perjured if you need the rest of the beats in that line). The master of enjambment hath laid the smackdown on us.

But I feel better knowing that I was psyched out, instead of just cretinously forgetful.

I got asked to sign LCRW 11 ("Three Letters from the Queen of Elfland"), so I'm geeked about that. Yes, still.

It is the understanding of my principal and myself that l'affaire Campbell will take place at 2:15 this afternoon, outside Capitol B. However, since the other principal did not appear for the alleged official calling out last night ... well, we shall see.

Oh, and the haiku:

Three Drops
          Outflung wrist,
          Slack against white lace.
          Life, staining.

Er... where was the "something something" supposed to go?

We were trying to make it "Th'expense of spirit in a waste of shame is something something lust in action," because we were trying to unenjamb what Shakespeare had rightfully jambed.

You signed my LCRW 11 last year, as well.
