Either my husband loves me and wants me to be happy, or he's part of a vast and sinister conspiracy to ensure that I never get another lick of work done ever again. I'm not sure which.
I-- sad unloved stiff-- had to buy myself The Sims 2. And it's currently being routed by Amazon.com to my doorstep in PA... by way of Australia, by way of Kalamazoo, so I'm the sad unloved stiff thrust into throes of longing for a silly piece of computer software which I cannot let anyone in my family know I ordered lest I be ridiculed to death. THIS IS MY PROBLEM.
Hey, btw, my issue of LCRW came the other day (avec excellent chocolate-bar, as I sprung for that whimsical subscription) and completely turned around what had been a frustrating and unpleasant morning. Every time I see an issue of that magazine I'm glad you (indirectly) let me know about it.
Some days, the teenaged programmer normally buried under several layers of personal development fires off a neuron and surprises me. It's like the reptilian brainstem that way.
XOR is the Exculsive Or operator in some languages -- either A or B but not both.
Actually, yes. I'm going on the assumption that if my husband loves me and wants me to be happy, he wants me to write stories--because over time, that makes me far happier far more consistently than even The Sims 2 can manage.
Don't you just LOVE when they do things like that? My hubby bought "us" Jade Empire which totally has much of my attention, so much so had to make myself leave it alone so I could get something productive done!
The Sims 2 is like a gigantic black hole of time that sucks your life away. Especially if you recreate the characters of your favorite books. I had to go to rehab to stop playing, and my hands are shaking right now just thinking about it. ;)
