The real world sucks today.

I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said about Katrina and New Orleans and the abysmal cock-up of the official relief efforts and the racism and the classism and the incompetence and the corruption, and [livejournal.com profile] brisingamen, you want to know what Bush means by "my fellow Americans"? He means people just like him. For which, please read Haliburton.

I hate politics. Hate talking about it. And I'm not gonna.

Instead, I offer you some options for a respite:

And don't forget Superman is still a dick.

Curious, where's the bitterness coming from? Do you have any relatives/friends down by the bayou?

Why are you assuming that I have to have some personal connection in order to be horrified and outraged?

For the record, the answer is no. I am bitter for exactly the reasons suggested in my post. No more and no less.

Thanks.

I often wonder what compels people to make comments similar to yours. Online, livejournal in particular, I wonder if they're (the comments) influenced by a current disdain for Bush or if they're more to do with mob mentality brought on by the aftermath of the storm — irrespective of his actual performance.

I don't care much about Bush, but I was just curious about the Haliburton reference and what it had to do with the "official relief efforts." That's all.

Perhaps you've missed the charming data point that it's already been announced that Haliburton is contracted to do military base cleanup in Mississippi.

Nice to know somebody can make a profit off this.
