This is still subject to change, as Chapter 12 is going back up to my charming and talented beta reader to see if perhaps it looks a little less like a victim of the Terror, but I think it's pretty substantially how things are going to be.

This is exciting and unnerving all at once.

Of course, it's not like I'm left at loose ends, since I have vol. 2 (also, of course, 3 and 4), the dis., and a short story all waiting for me, but still.

And printing things out has got to be the most boring part of the entire writing process. Even writer's block is more interesting than this, for crying out loud.

Oh, the chapters in these books are insane. The shortest is 46 pages; the longest is 95. Mostly they're around 60.

In the novel that's out in the field, I deliberately wrote 20-page chapters, just to prove that I could do it. But my natural unit seems to be the 60-page chapter. And I'm at peace with that.
