So I did something really stupid to my website.

I don't know what yet. I am waiting for my (sadly no longer resident) code geek to call me back and explain it to me in small words and maybe with brightly colored diagrams, although those are tricky over the phone.

So there will be an update to the website, as soon as my ass has been sorted out from my elbow for me. And it will have groovy things, like the first chapter of The Virtu online and freely available to read.

In the meantime, matociquala is being smart and helpful about learning to write. Or learning to be a writer, since they're not quite the same thing And so is buymeaclue.

And I've been invited to be on programming at DucKon 15. I shall get to see papersky for the first time in what feels like forever!

And I'm on p. 250 of the page-proofs. For lo they are endless.

Um. Yes, probably, but the situation is complicated and involves two different sets of updates that seem to have gone into Death Match 2000, and like they teach you in Girl Scouts about getting lost in the woods: sit still and yell for help.

It is amazing how endless page-proofs are, isn't it? You think, "Oh, I've read this a million times, nailed most of it in the copyedits, won't need to do much more than look for typo's" - and then you realize it all looks *different* now, and things *jump out* at you, and you realize you're maybe logging 25 pages in an hour if you're *lucky* because you ahve to read everything verrrrrrrry slowwwwwwwly and probably twice (at least) because you have to see what it would look like if you just changed that comma . . . At least, that's what happened to me last month.
