I woke up today to the realization that this book is due August 1st--i.e., exactly four months from now. It's not like I didn't know that before, editors not making a practice of keeping deadlines a deep dark secret from the writer involved, but it felt real today. I mean, real.
I channeled the resulting sweet Jesus on toast wtf am I doing? rather well, I think.
