Æon is buying "The Ile of Dogges" (written by [livejournal.com profile] matociquala and myself), probably for issue 7.

[livejournal.com profile] heres_luck and [livejournal.com profile] renenet will remember the genesis of this story, for they were there: Ella's Deli after WisCon two years ago.

I'm glad it found a good home.

(And yes, I really do need a wider selection of icons for sales news)

Whee!

And thank you for reminding me of that conversation at Ella's; I do remember it, but I would never have made the connection if you hadn't mentioned it. *g*

Mmmm. Ella's. You know, now that I can make frozen custard, I really need to try making grilled pound cake hot fudge sundaes at home. As if my kitchen weren't already decadent enough!

I'll be there in late July. Late July seems like excellent timing for such an endeavor. Yes, you may practice first. If you insist.

And to truepenny... hooray! I sorta mostly remember that conversation -- ooh, more of it coming back even as I type -- but I would not have connected based on just the title. I look forward to reading it! Yay!

Congratulations!

Ella's is a wonderful place.

Grilled hot fudge pound cake can be made by slicing Sara Lee pound cake into thick slices, grilling in a very lightly greased cast iron frying pan - use butter or a very mild oil. Top with good vanilla ice cream, or the flavor of your choice, cover with lots of hot fudge and whipped cream, cherry is optional.

I grew up on a variation of these, the hot fudge cake with the cake not grilled, served by the Hot Shoppes in suburban Washington DC. Every once in a while I get a craving.
