UBC #10: The Dragon's Teeth/Neverwhere

Queen, Ellery. [Manfred B. Lee and Frederic Dannay]. The Dragon's Teeth. 1939. New York: Signet-New American Library, 1971.
This is Ellery Queen midway along in his Detective's Progress from self-satisfied to self-mocking. The story itself is one of the limpest of the EQ/EQ mysteries (i.e., mysteries about Ellery Queen written by Lee & Dannay), relying as it does on such remarkably cavalier disregard for the exigencies of the law. But it has the exuberant flourishes of prose that I find so endearing, and Ellery is human enough to have his appendix burst.
Having, at long last, gotten our tv & dvd-player set up, Mirrorthaw and I watched Neverwhere this past week.
My love for Mr Croup and Mr Vandemar is perverse and unsuitable and knows no bounds.
