1. to Clarkesworld Magazine for October (note to self: that's not NEARLY as far away as you think it is), a story about the aftermath of conquest.

2. to Postscripts Magazine (tentatively scheduled for Winter 2007, although that's doubtless subject to change), the Marxist-Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath-with-vampires Booth story, "The World Without Sleep." (Which will not appear in The Bone Key because, well, Marxist-DQoUK-with-vampires. It doesn't fit.)

And [livejournal.com profile] matociquala is Author GoH at Penguicon 5.0 (April 20-22, 2007, in Troy, Michigan) and has invited me to tag along. It's the Fabulous Traveling Bear and Mole Show!

Woo-hoo!

Great news! Congratulations on the sales!

P.S. I checked Postscript's guidelines, and though they mention buying stories, I couldn't find any reference to their rates. Could you elucidate in re thereof?

From: [identity profile] truepenny.livejournal.com
'tho I have no idea if that's their standard rate or what.

Still, they would appear to be a paying market. Thanks for the skinny.

Hey, congrats!

So why "Mole"?

I have ocular (http://www.albinism.org/publications/ocular.html) albinism (http://www.albinism.org/), which means I am extremely myopic and also highly photosensitive. So I, um, identify.

Also (http://www.discoverlife.org/nh/tx/Vertebrata/Mammalia/Talpidae/), moles (http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/resources/anatomical_images/family_pages/insectivora/talpidae.jpg/view.html) are (http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn6961) just (http://www.arkive.org/species/ARK/mammals/Talpa_europaea/more_info.html) cool (http://www.calacademy.org/research/bmammals/afrotheria/golden_moles/).

Wow! Yes, they are very cool. I particularly love the "Shark of the Dunes" (Eremitalpa granti namibensis).

Perhaps I'll see you and EB at PenguinCon then. Scazli-san and I do breakfast there every year before I disappear back into the Subterranean Press batcave.

Congrats! And it looks like we might share a TOC together! I've also got a story (tentively) in that same PostScripts called "Ghost Technology From the Sun"
