The first four chapter of The Mirador weigh in at 44,668 words. This is 2k down from the previous draft, but not to worry! In Chapter 5, I get to introduce a character who gets to try to tie three different plot arcs together. Whee!

My deadline is three weeks away.

I think "digging my own grave" may be the best tag I've seen on LiveJournal.

If that wasn't bad enough, Friday 13th came on a Friday this month.
So here's Churchy la Femme and Porkypine:

By rights, I should be under the bed.

Are those figurines? And what on earth is Porkypine holding?

Yup, figurines indeed--very hard to find, apparently, according the Walt Kelly sites. I have not dared to investgate because then I might buy one. I have no clue what Porky has there.

It's probably supposed to be his bagpipe (I've been thinking *g*).

At least, it's clearly not a flower, and those are the only two things Porky characteristically got drawn holding.

It's a joy to meet a fellow Pogophile.

It kinda looks like a bag of clothes, as if he's running away. But those were always carpet-bags, no? And this doesn't look like that.

I am in the middle of reading The Virtu and I "inhaled" your first book, thought it was simply amazing. Brilliant. Loved the two pov's and I am a picky reader about POV as some just don't work for me. I am enjoying and taking my time reading The Virtu and I am so glad to know that you are writing more about this world. I plan to review your books on my blog and spread the word. Your my new auto-buy next to Catherine Asaro.
