truepenny: artist's rendering of Sidneyia inexpectans (porpentine: basic)

In case you were wondering, I am still revising The Mirador. My editor, who is merciful, gave me an extension. (A thing I never had to ask for in my career as a student, and am I having over-achiever guilt about it? Three guesses and the first two don't count.) I've caught several embarrassing continuity glitches, rewritten several bad segues, and cut several clunky paragraphs.

I'm also so bored I can't stand myself.

If you'd like to tell me something good, something interesting, something fun or funny or even peculiar, I would be very grateful.

my spouse and I purchased three garden ornaments. I never thought I would be a person who had garden ornaments, but I am now, and I am beginning to understand their insidious attraction.

Along these lines, my in-laws sent us a copper object that looks like the love child of a moose and a turtle. I didn't like it until I discovered it was meant to be a year-round garden ornament. Now I love it. It watches my front door. Its weathery greeny weird round goodness is just right outside the front door and would have been awkward above the fireplace.
