I had a really bad autumn.

And, I mean, I knew at the time that it kind of sucked on a day to day basis, but now it's winter and I've met that fucking deadline, and had a couple of weeks to do nothing--and I mean, really. NO. THING. And I'm looking back on the last quarter of 2006 and going, Dude. Please tell me the other guy looks worse.

And things are getting better.

My plan is that 2007 is going to be fucking genius. So is yours. Pinky swear.

This just reminded me of the following American poem, heard on radio 4, author unknown:

Humpty Dumpty had a bad summer.
Humpty Dumpty's spring was a bummer.
Humpty's winter was no fun at all.
But Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

You got it done, and you got it turned in, and it was a learning experience, and autumn is over, and you've finished the "Somewhere under the waves was her home" story.

I heard that American poem. Once. In 'Poetry Please' (Radio 4) in 1989/90
It goes:
Humpty's Winter was a bummer.
His Spring was not good at all.
He had a terrible Summer.
But Humpty Dumpty had a great Fall.

~hugs~ I'm glad that things are getting better. I understand about bad, bad times lately.

By the way, that is an utterly adorable icon.

I just wrote something of the same sort, only with more whining, in my journal. Fall was not good, no.

Just one step after another in the right direction. Hang in there.

And, yeah, the other guy looks way worse.
