So here's the thing. What with the furnace and the elderly and psychotic Saab and all, the household finances of truepenny and mirrorthaw are currently not so much with the discretionary spending. Also, there's this pestiferous book-thing I'm supposed to be writing. Thus, although I would love to go to more conventions this year (because I enjoy conventions, I really, truly, sincerely do), it looks like it's gonna be these four:

Odyssey Con
Penguicon
WisCon
World Fantasy Con

And I only get Penguicon because I'm matociquala's date.

I am sad about missing Boskone and not being able to go to ICFA. It's not because I don't love you!

I have reached the part of the narrative in Summerdown where I can start making Felix feel like an ignorant hick. It's really not nice to have schadenfreude for your own fictional characters, but I'm gloating anyway.

Minicon was off the list (with sadness and woe. Woe!) before I even got to the budgetary constraints, because with it and Odyssey Con and Penguicon, that would have been conventions back-to-back-to-back for three weeks in April.

And while I enjoy conventions, that seemed, well, excessive.
