Summerdown has just extruded a prologue.

(I am calling it an entr'acte, because after all this is book four, and we can't really have prologues anymore. And no one will get it if I call it an inlogue.)

I think it is necessary. It was certainly one of the easiest bits of the book to write thus far. You know, like it was just waiting for me to realize I needed it. And it was, in a terrible, mean, sadistic way, kind of fun to write. Three beheadings, one disemboweling, one blinding, and one death by multiple simultaneous impalement. In five pages.

Practise hard. Sounds like you're going to need it. *g*

Yeah, it's like goldy and bronzy, only it's made of iron.

You really took those revenge dramas to heart, didn't you?

I lived with them, intimately, for more than five years.

Yes.

At least you're channelling them into fiction, and not acting them out in real life.

Seneca and the boyz should be proud. Still making a mark after all these yers!

0_0 Oh my goodness...I'm pretty sure I don't even want to know what that's about...

...only I really really do. I can't lie. =D

I find that whenever I complain about a trick or theme or piece of business or type of character in the fiction of others, next thing I know, it pops up in my own. Now I wonder if i don't fixate on it because somewhere in my deep mind recognition has taken place. Of some kind.

Wow. That's right up there with the end of Duchess of Malfi with a bonus dose of disembowelment. And it's only the beginning?

I find it worrisome in a terrifyingly interesting sort of way.
