So, it turns out I'm eligible for the Campbell again this year, Dell having sorted out a vastly humanitarian way to deal with the rule-changes that came into effect in 2005.

Yes, that means this is my second year of eligibility for the second year in a row.

I really wasn't expecting this--I'd figured 2006 was my one shot at it--so I'm kind of in a flat spin here. But, you know, if you think I deserve Best New Writer, I would be very grateful to be nominated.

Meanwhile, I'm on p. 355 of A Companion to Wolves and hope to finish today, so as to send it off to be matociquala's problem tomorrow. Banzai.

Wow, I love flukes like this! If it makes a difference, you're the best new writer I've read in the last two years! Just ordered the Virtu and the Mirador after devouring Melusine in an orgy of reading that almost lost me my job. I now make sticky notes that say "Rachel, go to work" and insert them every 100 pages for the second read through.
