truepenny: artist's rendering of Sidneyia inexpectans (cats: problem)

Okay, too many of my friends on LJ are having weird and craptacular things happen to them. (If you think I mean you, then yes, I mean you. Even if I don't know it.) The universe needs to cut it the fuck out.

Since there's not much else I can do, I offer goofy/awesome/beautiful links:

The Fúfumal

Stephen Hawking, Zero-Gravity Edition

These show exactly why art needs craft, and are completely breathtaking besides.

The paper cuts are absolutely extraordinary. I've been staring and staring at them. Thank you for the link.

Thanks for the links. I especially liked the Paper Cut site.
In return, I offer Bubblewrap (http://www.nata2.info/d/flash/f/bubblewrap.swf); it's always good for a little stress relief.

Damn Vista. Bubblewrap would be a good thing right. DH must put XP back on this machine as soon as possible. Damn Vista.

Then perhaps a Virtual Flower Garden (http://www.procreo.jp/labo/flower_garden.swf)?

:( All I saw was a black screen.

I tell you, 2007 is not going down as one of my best years. Bah. Humbug.

Maybe it will be one of those years that starts crappy (and mine did -- literally! -- with a sewage flood on our lower level) and somewhere in the middle shifts gears and becomes a banner year.

If you click on the black screen, flowers should appear.

That does sound bad. With luck (of the good kind), there will be equal 'ups' for your 'downs' this year.

D'oh! Ah. Much better now. Thank you for the flowers.

Now for a trip to the pet store, as the oldest daughter can price fishies and fish bowls. :)

The picture of Stephen Hawking (it was printed in our paper yesterday) made me cry. He has such a look of joy on his face. I'm so thrilled that he was able to make that flight, and I hope he does get to go into space.

Me too. Oh, me too.

It made me think of Mike, too, who would have liked it very much.

A splendid thing. Glad you posted the link, [livejournal.com profile] truepenny.

... Paper cut. It makes my brain go a bit smooshy really. As did Foo Foo, but for rather different reasons.

Your icon is just highly appropriate to life, really. :D

I don't think the universe is being nice to any one of us right now. *sighs.* Unfortunately. *nod, nod.*
