No, but it is polite to ask when linking to things other people have linked, sometimes. The sfwa community is for members and non-members of SFWA, so I thought I'd check.
After some thought, I can clarify why I asked: in situations where two people might be involved in the same community, reposting their links before they have a chance to post them, if they "found" the link originally, is sometimes considered rude. Since I wasn't sure if truepenny was part of that community (since it is a forum for SFWA and non-SFWA members, I couldn't reasonably rule her out), I thought it would be polite to ask, is all.
