750 words today on Summerdown. I've been stuck for ages and ages, and I finally figured out it was because I'd sent the wrong character into the scene. (Yes, very like the Wrong Trousers.)

Also, since yesterday, a net gain of 1,780 words on a new short story. (I actually wrote more like 3,500 words, but half of them were wrong. I seem to be having that problem a lot.) I've been wanting to write this since WorldCon (rachelmanija, it's the LA cliché story), and yesterday it finally explained to me that it had to be in second person present tense. Which, you know, is one of those things I never intended to do, but there are things you can argue with your backbrain about, and then there are things you can't.

When I try to argue with my backbrain about voice, I am always wrong.

Er. Wow. "A Light in Troy" just kicked me in the chest, so hard. Wow. I hadn't read that before. Not sure I should have read it at work. But thank you. That was one amazing story.
