Part One of Summerdown: 52,530 words (There need to be more words somewhere in the middle of Part One, but I haven't figured out what they are yet.)
Part Two had better come through on its promise to be complicated and sprawly and full of things like feminism and kinky sex and trains and politics and historiography and an adult education movement and ethically questionable magic, because I've got 125,000 words that need to come from somewhere.
Am I panicking about my August 1st deadline? Let's all pretend you didn't ask that question.

Date: 2007-05-14 07:48 pm (UTC)I just have to tell you, too, that I bought MELUSINE after reading about your work on this journal - had to track it down in Forbidden Planet here in London. It was wonderful to see it there on the shelf and not have to do the whole Amazon-thing. I pushed aside my book of Kelly Link short stories and have begun reading immediately. Oh, it's just beautiful; your words are inspiring me to reach further with my own writing. I'm only 30 pages in and already love Mildmay! I know terrible things are bound to happen to both him and Felix, but I hope they're not *too* terrible...
