Sometimes I wonder if I'm reading the same book as other people. The generalization about the relationships in the book would be applicable to some books I've read, but not at all this one. & he doesn't think Felix is even *trying* to be a better person? I thought F's thoughts were preoccupied with this. He doesn't get why other characters don't immediately realize scary-looking, taciturn, sometimes-gruff Mildmay is sensitive? I know everyone to some extent brings their own preconceptions to reading and people are going to interpret things differently, but one of us is waaay off.
On the positive side, the Melusine reviewer and I clearly read exactly the same book, and loved it for more or less the same reasons.
I was suprised to see you fixing continuity errors. "Someone" told me that I was supposed to leave that for copyeditors. (Of course, someone also told me I didn't have to wear pants so maybe taking advice from other writers isn't always safe.)
