I just read "Deadline on the Horizon" and I too was glad to read the bit about listening to the story. You see, I've been following your countdown and while I truly am sympathetic and know I, myself, could never deal with such pressure for such an extended period of time, the selfish part of me keeps thinking, "Gee, I really hope this book isn't going to be damaged by being rushed." (Bad, Fan, bad!) Then I remind myself that I write fine under pressure and, in fact, when I don't have a deadline I produce exactly...nothing. That's why I am not a professional writer. Well, that and lack of drive, imagination, discipline, etc. Anyway, I just saw Stranger Than Fiction on DVD and was interested in how the publisher sent an "assistant" to "help" the author finish her book. I don't suppose that ever happens in real life does it? It would be pretty horrible if it did. I loved your first two books and I'm loving the chapters you've been posting from the third. It will be fun to read the fourth having followed your posts while you were writing it. Best wishes.
From one of your selfish fans
