Because, dude, I am totally taking my vacation where I can get it, and where I can get it is right now with a stack of due South DVDs.
  • Fantasy Book Critic reviews The Mirador. With spoilers.
  • Jeff VanderMeer says lovely things about my short fiction.*

*The necklace I'm wearing in that photograph (taken by the charming and remarkable photographer David Dyer-Bennet) is "Letter from a Teddy Bear on Veterans' Day" by [livejournal.com profile] elisem. The story was published in Ideomancer last year.

Hay! You've cut your hair since I met you. It looks great :)

Actually, it's the other way 'round. That picture was taken in 2003, just when I was starting to grow it out again. My hair's a little short of waist length now.

Oh. Well, I stand corrected! And it looked good longer, too -- I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I tend to grow out my own and then whack it off periodically myself :)

I'm about 3/4 done with THE MIRADOR and am enjoying it hugely, especially all the theatre stuff. Am trying to make it last, but it's hard not to gulp it all down.

I just wanted to say that I finished The Mirador, and I loved it. (I've never actually cried while reading a book before. Brilliant work.) Thanks for writing so well.

Also, bonus points for due South.

I stayed up until 3 AM to finish The Mirador on Friday. It ripped my heart out, in a good way!

Lovely photograph.

Just wanted to post that I absolutely enjoyed The Mirador. I picked up my copy from Dreamhaven Books (that crazy wonderful fantasy/sci-fi/comics/vintage sleaze archive in Minneapolis). A second read through will be necessary to really appreciate your use of language and all the details I missed on the first gulp-through. Much appreciation for your novels and complex mesmerizing characters.

Hi! ^_^ You don't know me (I think; if you did, it would be kind of scary), but I just popped in to tell you that I found your book, The Virtu from a local bookshop this week.

Now, I don't know if that holds any significance to you, but I live in Finland, and to me it sounds awesome that someone who hasn't got a big name (yet; you just never know ^_~) like Sidney Sheldon or Nora Roberts has made it all the way here. Especially to Akateeminen which is the biggest bookshop company here. So, I, ah... I wanted to congratulate you. It might not sound like a big achievement to you, but I think it's great. (Especially that after I discussed your books with a friend and she confirmed my suspicions that I had bumped into your books on LJ before.)

That's all I have to say. ^_^ All the best to you!
