::bounces up and down::

My copies of The Bone Key arrived by UPS ninja this morning. It is lovely, and I am delighted beyond words to have the first ten Booth stories* collected where people can actually find them.

If you want a sample, you can read "Wait for Me" on my website.

*There are two more Booth stories in press, "The World Without Sleep" for Postscripts and "The Yellow Dressing Gown" for Weird Tales.

The pleasure is, very truly, all mine.

When you link to a story, it's like I get a present. I'm not a ghost story afficionado (sp?) but I am a fan of good stories, with or without ghosts.

Will look for the book when I have a bank balance again.

But neither Powells nor the publisher's own web site will let me order it. Waah.

Yeah. And the publisher doesn't answer emails, either. ::sulks::

Yes, I do :-) I've gotten a few inquiries from independent bookstores in the last few days, but nothing else regarding this project. Maybe your email got derailed on its way to my inbox?

It's entirely possible--the server at work exploded not long ago. I'll try again with a different account.

Why did the cover change? I like the other cover better. Is there any chance of getting it?

The cover changed because the chains didn't like it, and when they say change it you say YESSIR and move on :-)

Well, drat. I think that other cover was 10 times better then this one. It's not as mysterious.

Yea! happy hops!

I just this week end had a discussion with the local B&N about my order (still on back order with them) What I didn't tell them, and probably should have, was that Border's web site manages to make a distinction between 'back ordered' and 'not-yet-released'. The first time I asked at B&N, they said it was backordered, and they might not be able to get a copy. Wah! I got so rattled I ordered a copy at B&N and promptly ordered another one through the Border's website.

Well Amazon shows I can buy it but it will take 1-3 months to ship. I guess I should put my order in now; not like I don't have several hundred other books to read while I wait...
