If you want to know what a sf convention looks like from an editor's point of view, Jessica Wade has blogged WFC (including a shot of the Bear and Mole Traveling Show).

There's an interview with me in The Capital Times.

And have a couple blog posts about The Mirador.

But lest you think my ego is swelling beyond the bounds of my hat, here is a most displeased review of Mélusine, and here is another entry in the One Sentence Diss competition: The name is the coolest part of this book.

Due to the way that The Capital Times piece was written, my brain is now processing that your novels make great gifts for children.

I must get more sleep.

Yes. Yes, you must.

Um--I combat the internet-review with-- my internet review! (http://thebookbug.livejournal.com/1164.html) Unfortunately I don't think anyone pays much mind to me. :P

The Capital Times is a retarded publication; I've been watching it lose grey matter for decades now.

You and Elizabet Bear are the best things in fantasy right now except for Rudy Rucker, haha, so there. I hope we get more wolves and svartalfr.

It's a nice interview in the Cap Times. Too bad my neighbors keep stealing my newspaper, or I'd clip it out. Oh well, I guess that's what the internet if for.

The novels, "The Virtu," "Melusine" and most recently, "The Mirador," follow the fortunes of wizard Felix Harrowgate and his thief half-brother, Mildmay the Fox, as they navigate their way through a fantastical world of sorcery, betrayal and high political intrigue.

Isn't that kind of a spoiler? When I read Melusine the first time, I really didn't put it together that Felix and Mildmay were brothers, so it was a nice satisfying surprise for me.

Having finally gotten around to actually READING A Companion to Wolves (college eats me), I've gotta say: very nice. Bizarre, but, uh, I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting. I love Melusine-verse, so . . . *laughs* I just didn't expect the title to be literal (too many metaphorical titles roaming the wilds). But one thing piques my curiosity: are there going to be any more books in this universe? Because it's a compelling, compelling universe, and while that particular storyline closed ridiculously well, I can see other stories that exist, maybe in the future (or the past). (And to be quite honest, I just wanted more cute, domestic, post-story fluff, haha.) But in an incredibly roundabout way, that's my question: what're the chances of something else existing in this intriguing little world?

Bear and I have agreed that we'll only write more books in that universe if we both feel like it's a fun thing to do. So it's certainly POSSIBLE. But not guaranteed.

For every troll who writes a bad review I will get another one of my friends hooked on your books.

Numbers...well, I'm slow. It took a few reads of Melusine to get that whole 7 system thing. Now if I can work on the months... :)

You're still my #1 author!

I did my best to pimp you on our library blog (http://niurarebooks.blogspot.com). And there was a doctoral student at the Fantasy Matters conference working on your work for her dissertation.

Just sayin'.

O_O
well first of all, i completely dissagree with that article. Half the things that annoyed him/her are things that i LOVE about Melusine! I LOVE how you set it in a completely different world, and i'm in awe with how your writing takes you completely into it, down to the last detail. I don't think i would like it as much if Mildmay used some common saying like "In ages" or something. That's just boring! Your characters are so 3 dimensional and well developed that i could tell who was who if you didn't put in any of their names in the second book.
“See, guys? Isn’t it cool? The numbering system isn’t based on ten, it’s based on seven."
your damn right that's cool!!
Quite obviously this person's own writing must be horrid. I'd hate to pick up anything they wrote!

*deep breath* Ok, rant over! No one makes fun of MY favorite author!! (teehee!)

I love your stories and your writing style! Thank you for writing such wonderful books!!!!

I hate being one of those people that won't listen when others disagree with them, but honestly, whenever I read bad reviews about The Mirador, I just can't... comprehend... I love all three to insane extents. I don't even know what I'm going to do with myself when the final book comes out and I have to read it and it will be over. I'll be wandering alone on the moors for a while.

I realize now that this anonymous profession of obsession might be a little creepy. I just couldn't resist letting you know how completely I disagree with the last two reviews. :]
