Try having a look at New Zealand's World of Wearable Art homepage. One of the sections you can compete in is Bizarre Bra - I'm sure someone has attached gargoyles to a bra at some point. God knows they've done some pretty impressive things to such a humble garment so far.....
I am still in mourning over the fact that my local "no one can fit you? come over here, honey" bra shop shut down.
I love my gorgeous Fantasie UK bras, but I can't fit in them at the moment (nursing) and am having to make do with steel-belted granny bras, the kind that make two torpedoes out of my chest. ::sad:: I want my pretty bras back!
(Hmmm... maybe I'll order a steel-belted granny bra in black, and add a gargoyle...)
I was delighted to find that there are some prettier nursing bras out there (although they tend toward soft florals rather than bright and funky). A big change from the last time I did this, when the choices were white and white!
Sadly, the pretty ones don't come in sizes extended enough for me. :(
That said, how does the bra feel? I've been looking for a decent sports bra for running for ages. I've bought one called "shock absorbers" and it does a good job, but it's like trying to put on a spiderweb -- sticky, gets into places you don't want it to go, and once it's on, it's a mess trying to get it off. No underwires, though, and, yes, it does as advertised -- hardy any bounce.
Once it's on, it's great--it does what I want from a bra, which is that it allows me to forget I have tits--but it does take a certain amount of effort to get into and out of it.
"you get easy on and off with a back hook closure"
Since when is a back hook closure "easy on and off"? OK, it's easier than pulling no-closure sports bra down over a shower-damp body, but if you have stiff shoulders, as I do periodially, a back closure is no bed of roses either, believe me.
And, actually, the fact remains that it is a racer-back bra. So it's the worst of both worlds. You have to undo the back hooks and get the damn thing off over your head.
Mama used to say, If you wear a bra all the time, you won't sag in your, ahem, mature years. Well, I'm here to tell you it isn't true. So I mostly stopped wearing the darn things and am much more comfortable.
oh dear.
