if I may say so, EEE!

The first copy of Corambis arrived this morning, courtesy of the FedEx ninja. I've put it on the shelf with the other three where, I have to say, it looks fabulous.

Sometime between now and April 7, therefore, more copies of Corambis will show up in bookstores. I wish I could give you more precise information than that, but I can't. Official publication dates, like the Pirates' Code, are more guidelines than actual rules unless you are J. K. Rowling, which I most certainly am not.

(EEE!)

Congratulations!! I know my own copy has been pre-ordered for some time now, so maybe... JUST MAYBE... someday very soon I will get my own copy.

I pre-ordered it months ago, I can't believe it's come around so quickly!

Oh, awesome. (I can't remember if Amazon ever ships pre-"release date" or not, I don't usually shop with them.)

Especially since I re-read the rest of the series last week and now can't focus on any other book because I need to know what happens. *g* They're even more fun the second/third time around.

Congratulations! I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] rarelylynne and I will soon be fighting about who gets to read our copy first. *g*

unless you are J. K. Rowling, which I most certainly am not.

True. You happen to be a very talented writer. :)

[identity profile] owldaughter.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You may not be JKR, but your books have *much* better covers. And the contents/story/characters stick with me longer. :)

EEE! You do realise that now I'll be refreshing my Book Depository order status every hour or so, don't you? :-)

Congratulations.

[identity profile] cassandraterra.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish I could get it sooner but B&N and Borders won't have it until the official release date and are shocked if you even mention seeing it sooner. Grrr.

[identity profile] britmandelo.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
As a Borders gal--it's because our distribution centers absolutely never mail us the books on time if you aren't famous. Usually we don't get ahold of SFF books until a week after their release date. Lucky day if it's on the release date, and an amazing rarity if it's even the week before. We only get JKR/Stephenie Meyer/Stephen King the week before their date, generally.

I agree it's pretty irksome when there's something you really want and you unpack all of the receiving only to find it hasn't shown up on time. I wish they would, you know, pretend they cared about customer satisfaction. (I love my store, but not my company. *g*)

[identity profile] cassandraterra.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. Well, I guess I'm just lucky I get on the date it's supposed to be out then. *shakes head* Borders...you used to be so good.

[identity profile] maki-to13.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
*squeeeee!* I'm so excited! I'll know for sure when my local B&N calls me with the pre-order, and I will let you know as well.

Reading it will be my reward for finally finishing this damn book, if I do.

Hooray!

P.

I'm happy to think that my book is your reward.

I am also inclined to say EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

[identity profile] sansura.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
yay! you madame, have made my day.

[identity profile] callunav.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Eee!

Seriously, that is awesome. I am looking forward to it very, very much. And--how nice that you have your copy and can put it where you can see it, and seeing it makes you happy. That sounds like one of the better feelings out there.

[identity profile] truepenny.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It is not something that one becomes jaded to.

Also, I have to admit, there is something immensely satisfying in seeing all four books together.

[identity profile] callunav.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. Yes.

[identity profile] mia-mcdavid.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
EEEEE!!!

[identity profile] alamaris.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Eee!

I was having a phenomenally horrible day, and finding this out has improved it a thousand-fold. I had entirely given up on the fantasy genre until I found this series -- I will certainly be waiting on tiptoe for the last one!

Also, seeing them all lined up on the shelf...that must be such a profound experience. You haven't just written a novel, you've written a series of four, and now the series is done. Magnificent!

[identity profile] razziecat.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
OHBOHBOYOHBOYOHBOYOHBOYOHBOYOHBOY!!!!! FELIX!!!!!!!!!!!!
(swoons)
At this rate I will be reading Corambis before Lois McMaster Bujold's last Sharing Knife novel, which came out on January 27 and my local library STILL hasn't acquired it.

I re-read a little bit of the first Labyrinth books every day. Just pick one up at random and read. It's delicious.

Woohoo!
I *finally* got the chance to listen to Ch.1 yesterday, so my longing is especially fresh... this is terrific news! Off to Amazon I go....

And while I'm at it - I very much enjoyed your reading of the chapter. Thanks so much for taking the time to do it and sharing that. It was a treat!

Yay! The book is now a BOOK! It's been on my Powells wishlist for weeks now, and I happily anticipate having one of my VERY VERY OWN.

And wow, this is really going to mark the end of an era, isn't it.

[identity profile] truepenny.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It really is. I'm hoping that's part of why I've been so utterly unproductive for the past several months.

Woo! I hope mine ships soon.
