1. Am sitting up like real person today! This cold has totally kicked my ass.
2. It is not, however, swine flu (thanks for the thought, Bear). Had fortuitous doctor's appointment yesterday (scheduled weeks ago on account of getting prescriptions renewed, like a person does), and he said it's just a cold. Added that if it was swine flu, I'd feel like I'd been hit by a truck, and yeah. I only feel like I've been hit by a go-kart.
3. Apparently, "swine flu" is a phrase that attracts typos like honey attracts ants. I had both "swing flu" and "swine flue" in the previous paragraph.
4. Coughing is not romantic. Either that, or all those tubercular Victorian heroines knew something I don't.
5. Being sick is boring. Boring boring boring. And in conclusion, boring.

Date: 2009-06-30 04:52 pm (UTC)Oh, and I think you have to distribute locks of your hair to all the servants as symbolism of your giving and righteous ways.
(Feel better!)

No, I'm not insulting you. It's a phrase to wish the best and encourage someone ^^

Date: 2009-07-01 12:26 am (UTC)Maybe your spouse needs to make you a cup of tea and read you poetry. That once worked for me! (of course, I no longer have that spouse, but he can still be called upon to read me ee cummings when I need it)

Date: 2009-07-01 08:26 am (UTC)The first couple of days off sick is fine but after that, while obviously I'd rather be at home than at work, I'd rather be mobile at home.
Anyway glad to hear you are feeling better. Maybe next WisCon we'll have a chance to catch up a bit less briefly!

Date: 2009-07-02 07:44 pm (UTC)FWIW, my Grampap's remedy: put a slug of whiskey and a spoonful of sugar into a cup, fill with boiling water, drink. Don't know if it *makes* you any better, but you sure *feel* better.
