I don't have much to say beyond OMG WOW. I found The City & the City both brilliant and readable; other readers, of course, may not find it to be either of those things.

Right there with you, and I was unable to finish Perdido Street Station (though I did like The Scar, so I've been meaning to try again). But this one blew me away.
