Waterlog

TIME: 41 min.
DISTANCE: 5 mi.
TOTAL DISTANCE: 237 mi.
NOTES: Apparently the blisters and the shin-splints are trading off. :P
DISTRACTION: The Dead Zone, "Netherworld"
SHIRE RECKONING: Still not king. Still haven't reached Weathertop.

This episode owes a lot to Jacob's Ladder. In other news, Chris Bruno is growing on me (although he still isn't Sheriff Bannerman), and John L. Adams deserves an award for NOT phoning in his crap sidekick role.

Are you watching Dead Zone on DVD, or is it broadcast on cable where you are?

I got the first three seasons for cheap at a used bookstore.

Sorry -- I have to ask -- is it necessary for Chris Bruno to be like George Bannerman in the book? He's the Walt and George character combined, and it makes the pieces a little more organized for a TV show. Does it make the show less, or is it an issue of personal preference for the book? (And there is nothing wrong with personal preference, of course.)

Since you seem to be wending your way backwards through these posts--

When you get to my first post about the TV show, you'll find my confession that The Dead Zone is my favorite Stephen King novel, and thus I am biased against any change the TV show makes. I'm making no pretense of a balanced critical reaction.
