Two Caudwell questions

One is INCREDIBLY spoilery for The Shortest Way to Hades.

So, what IS Hilary's beloved haplography which makes it necessary for Camilla to kill all her cousins?

The other one is, How do you pronounce "Selena"? So far, I've come up with :

Seh-LEE-na

SEH-leh-na

Se-LEH-na

I've double guessed myself to the point where I'm no longer sure how to pronounce "Helena," and I'm about to move on to the eternal life or death struggle between "Keats" and "Yeats." I think I need a hand.

Seh-LEE-na is how i pronounce it, but not out of some deep well of knowledge.

I've always pronouncd it "Seh-LEE-na."

"Su" as in "sullen" "LEE" as in "shore" and "nu" as in "nut".

Is it an unusual name? I was in school with a Selina. I can remember asking her if she didn't wish it was Selene, after the moon, and her looking at me in complete incomprehension.

I don't know if it's uncommon or not; I've never met a Selena/Selina/Selene. And Seh-LEE-na was what I thought, but, like I said, I started second-guessing myself, and suddenly everything looked terribly unlikely.

The Selina that I went to school with pronounced it Suh-LEE-na. Make of that what you will.

Helena I have always pronounced Hell-ih-na, but I've never met anyone with the name so have no idea what's preferred.
