I R SRS CAT. THIS R SRS POST.

As [livejournal.com profile] brisingamen says, Ursula K. Le Guin is a very bad woman.

A Pillow-Book for Cats.

(Now that Ursula has distracted you from your Very Serious Business,* check out Cat T'ai Chi as well.)

*[livejournal.com profile] oursin has some remarks on Very Serious Business which arise from her discussion of the idea that women make science fiction all icky and sissified when they write it. (WE R IN UR GENRE, TOUCHIN ALL UR THINGZ.)

I really let my gender down. Almost all of my favorite SF authors are women. I don't know what I'm thinking. ;-)

The major sci-fi/fantasy authors I read are all female. There are roughly 2 exceptions. Most of the male written stuff nowadays seems "sissified and icky" to me. That persona is making a bad name for us gentlemen who like reading female SF authors.

So please Mrs. Monette and all other female SF writers, feel free to be in "our" genre touching "our" things. Make a whole dang mess of it!!
