1. I need to say thank you to everyone who has responded to "After the Dragon," both here and in the comments at Fantasy Magazine and at FWD/Forward. This was a really hard story to write, and I was not convinced I'd done a good job with it, so I deeply appreciate everyone who took the time to share their response. (If you're reading this, and you know one of the commenters, please pass my thanks along.)

I love "After the Dragon" so very much. It speaks to me...to some part of me that I wish didn't exist, but I know it does, and I must live with it, through it, something. So I thank you for writing the story, very much.

"After the Dragon" is a fantastic story. I'm so glad I did my random "swing past to read recent stuff and briefly stalk" trip to your LJ in time to catch this link to it, because you really, really did do a good job of it, and it speaks not only to those who have faced the sudden onset of body trauma, but also purely psychological trauma, and even chronic illness. I've never been disfigured, but I've been a lot of other things, and that story still spoke to me. Thank you for writing it.
