[livejournal.com profile] cmpriest has an excellent post about the Tennessee floods.

As you all may or may not know, I'm from eastern Tennessee. Like Cherie, I miss my home state. (And I do still think of it as home, even though I've been living in Wisconsin for almost fourteen years.) And like Cherie, I encourage you to help in any way you can. Even if it's just by passing on the word.

As my friend Bob Hayes from Wayne County, TN puts it: "It's never good news when your home town is on the national news; and worse if it's the lead story!"

I'm long gone from Chester County, but my prayers are with everybody back home along the banks of the Cumberland, the Tennessee, the Forked Deer, or anywhere else in peril.

Thanks.

I think the Red Cross is providing shelter and meals to close to 1000 people, plus pets--this time, they let people bring their pets with them.
