Took the first full dose of Requip last night (it's one of those drugs you have to ease into), and the RLS struck back. A good time was distinctly not had by all. We will hope for better things tonight--for one, I will not repeat the optimistic experiment of skipping the oxycodone.

Then there was insomnia. There's still insomnia, for that matter, although I did get some sleep between 2 and 7, and now there's nausea to go with it. I do not like anything about this combination, anymore than I like the thin but persisting narcotic fog in which I move.

(Yes, the narcotic fog is preferable to the RLS. Extrapolate a little, and you know everything you want to know about RLS.)

The ankle, ironically, is at this point the least of my problems.

This post is depressingly self-centered, as I have not the wherewithal to do better. But at least now you know why I'm not posting much.

That sounds so miserable. Just say yes to oxycodone. I know someone who takes it all the time for arthritis--yeah, he's probably addicted, but he's surviving.

Being in a cast made my RLS go crazy, and that hurt. Eventually it went away, or back to normal levels.

*hugs*

I have oxycodone for cramps, and I hear you on the thin narcotic fog. It is unpleasant.

You do what you can with what you've got and try to hang on until things get better. I hope the get better for you soon.

I know this sounds crazy and wasn't exactly requested, but as a lifetime victim of RLS (we have our own ribbon. W00t?) I have gotten creative. Have you ever tried soaking your feet in icy water? Bathe your joints while you're doing it. It is not terribly pleasant, especially in winter, which is getting on, but I swear, it relieves the insanity. Sometimes it even lets me sleep. If you can't bathe your foot (I don't keep up well with blogs, and I don't know if you've gotten your cast off, yet) just bathing the joints helps immensely. Now, if I could figure out the insomnia thing... Well, my life would just be peaches and pie, wouldn't it?
