*sniffles*

It's so great that so many of the Vick dogs are thriving and have homes, but hearing about them also breaks my heart all over again. Like, how many rings still haven't been busted yet, you know?

On the other hand: OMG PUPPY WRESTLING!!!! =D

Thanks very much for that link. Among other things it reminded me how utterly wonderful the folks at Best Friends are. And why I loathe PETA, but hey.

Pretty much my opinion, yeah. Best Friends has an interesting blog entry (http://blogs.bestfriends.org/index.php/2011/01/25/petas-better-off-dead-philosophy/) that draws parallels between the PETA approach to "protecting" animals and that of animal hoarders.

Thanks for this link.

Also, apparently, your various animal posts of late mean that I think immediately of you when I hear an NPR story about baby cheetahs (http://www.npr.org/2011/01/28/133184411/smithsonian-scientists-get-cheetah-to-foster-a-cub) during my drive home from work. Well played, [livejournal.com profile] truepenny. Well played.

Even with the parts of this story that are happy, this is so heartbreaking.
