Plague Ward

Friday, [livejournal.com profile] mirrorthaw came down with the flu. Today, I have that nasty scratchy feeling in the back of my throat, and I've started coughing. I suppose it's just barely possible this isn't flu, but really, I'm pretty sure I'm doomed.

I ran to Walgreens while I'm still feeling relatively okay and stocked up on (more) Gatorade, ramen, ibuprofen, and cough drops. Now we batten down the hatches and ride the fucker out.

See you all on the other side.

If you get back out, grab some Oscillococcinum. It's a homeopathic flu remedy that actually works -- knocked the flu out of me this year in about two and a half days. Last year, my son and I both got H1N1 and we were fine in about a week with taking this stuff.

On a more allopathic note, there is a drug called Tamiflu that is often effective when taken very early in the course of the flu. Have to get it from your Dr. though.
(I took the oscillium and the Tamiflu when I got the damned swine flu).

If you can get to the doctor tomorrow, unless for some reason you cannot take it, definitely get some Tamiflu. You need to take it within the first 48 hours of symptoms but it works really well, at least based on my experience and the clinical studies I've read.

Also, feel better!!
