New fiction

"The Devil in Gaylord's Creek" is live at Fantasy Magazine.

ETA: It's also available as a podcast at the same link, read by Emily Janice Card.

Oh, that's brilliant! I love the characters and mythology and voice and everything about that story.

Hi Sarah :) I just finished reading it, and was wondering if there are any prequels.

Nope, it's a standalone.

This was very creepy to read, since I began by feeling comfortably like an outsider, maybe even a bit smug about being one, and had to shed all that as I saw that in essence this is the world we live in.

I always like your viewpoint characters, even when they are being brats.

Huh. I guess I did kind of reverse the usual horror story revelatory arc. That's pretty cool, although I won't pretend I did it on purpose.

I liked how Morgan was not quite what I expected. Not sure why I was so surprised but I was. Loved how we got to learn about her little by little, and in the end didn't really know much more than where we started. Nice having it a mystery that way. And have to admit, love Francis and would love to know more about him.
