Drank my tea, took a shower, washed my bras, swept the bathroom floor, started the laundry (which also contributes to de-grottifying the bathroom, since I'm washing the bathmat and shower curtain), put a variety of stuff in the mail, started the bread, which is now peacefully rising.

I am moved to post a haiku I wrote some time back about bread-baking:
They rise like angels
Pale and joyfully solemn
The loaves in their pans.

Now eating lunch (cold, leftover lentil-and-rice stirfry with onions and peppers ... have I mentioned that Mirrorthaw is a Really Good Cook?) and listening to Aimee Mann. Here in a minute, I'll go up and watch some Firefly with HL, thus cunningly circumventing the question of whether or not I can get anything written today or not--at least for a few more hours. Handy, that.

It's a beautiful day, and I've opened the windows. There are violets blooming, and tulips and other flowers I don't know.

Things are looking up.
